Second Life

As part of a series of projects, ARK was approached by Biotest AG to produce a film depicting the journey that many who undergo an organ transplant travel.  After several interviews, the ARK team spoke with Dennis who provided a powerful and personal story of his experience of a liver transplant.  The creative team felt that, rather than basing a narrative on the transcripts of the interview, the actual telephone audio from the interview should be used as the voice over to the story.  Above all else, we wanted an authentic story.  A patient story without filter.

The resulting film is a short, simple and elegant metaphor of Dennis’ journey.   Shot in a day using multiple cameras, mounts and drones, and graded to give a cinematic feel, the entire piece took just two weeks from interview to sign off and demonstrates the agility of both the client and the agency.  The piece is being used to raise the profile of Biotest AG who produce several specialty products in the area of transplant medicine.
